"I was improvising at the piano on a rainy afternoon back at my family home in the Faroe Islands when this music came to me. I finished writing the whole piece, with the exception of a few minute details, in one sitting. While I was playing through it for the first time, the rain was beating against the window with more and more intensity.

To me, playing this piece always conjures up that image of the rain beating against the window, but also visions of flowers blooming, leaves falling, the sun shining through the clouds, the waves crashing against the shore. I see an ordinary evening, a day full of purpose, a warm kiss and a cold goodbye.

When I play this music, it's as if I'm standing in a field of experience."
