Most Faroe Islanders know the traditional lullaby Rura, rura barnið by heart. The age-old lullaby's original author is unknown, and there are at least 15 — if not more — variations around the Faroe Islands.

This four-part arrangement by Eli Tausen á Lava is based on the variation his mother sang to him when he was a child.
