FAQ
Can I perform ____?
Yes! Just make sure to report the performance to your local performance rights organization. I am a member of KODA, which likely has an agreement with your local PRO. If you do perform my work, please let me know. I love to hear about it!
Can I use ____ in my movie, TV show, album, etc.?
Probably. Please reach out to me here and we’ll talk about it.
Can I commission a new work from you?
I’d definitely be interested in hearing from you! Reach out to me here and please include your desired instrumentation, duration, and when you’d need it for, as well as any comments about the budget.
Are you interested in collaborating?
I could be! Please reach out to me here and let me know what you’re thinking.
Who are your greatest musical inspirations?
The list is long, but I’ll try to make it as short as possible. In no particular order: David Bowie, Brian Eno, Yoko Shimomura, Björk, Max Richter, and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Who were your teachers?
My first composition teacher was Sunleif Rasmussen who tutored me at the Tórshavn Music School. During my bachelor’s studies at the Malmö Academy of Music, my teacher was Rolf Martinsson. Finally, getting my Master of Music at New York University, I studied with Robert Honstein, Michael Gordon, and Julia Wolfe.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not working on music, I tend to cycle through periods where I either watch a lot of TV, movies, YouTube, or play a lot of video games. I also like to go to art galleries, plays, screenings, etc. I like to read almost as much as I like to impulsively add new books to my unread pile. And I enjoy connecting with nature every now and then.
