Whether it was a friend, a lover or a family member, most people have had the bitter experience of growing apart from someone they love.

At the outset of Growing Apart, the four instruments of the string quartet are perfectly coordinated and in agreement. However, as the piece progresses, the spaces between the individual notes gradually become greater and greater until all four instruments are completely separated.
